The film of choice for multi-layer laminations

Aromatic polyether films are frequently used in multi-layer laminations as an adhesive or barrier layer for textile lamination, medical films and medical devices. Moisture and puncture resistant, they act as both a liquid and viral barrier and can withstand prolonged exposure to high humidity environments without degradation. They also have antifungal properties to prevent the growth of damaging bacteria and microorganisms that degrade the film surface. Being flexible, soft and resistant to skin oils they perform well in applications that require direct contact with human skin.

Argotec’s aromatic polyether is also available in an engineering-grade thermoformable sheet. Providing the inherent performance characteristics of the film, the rigid sheet offers converters and thermoformers a dimensionally stable sheet with many of the same attributes. Used as an alternative to glass or metals it is exceptionally tough, impact resistance and has low moisture absorption making it ideally suited for critical thermoforming applications in automotive, electronics, durable goods and medical devices. It is also used to replace engineering polymers like polycarbonate in certain applications that require superior chemical resistance, optical clarity and abrasion resistance.
