ENGINEERING-GRADE TPU (ETPU) SHEET

ArgoThane D7101 is a unique, aromatic polyether, engineering-grade, thermoplastic polyurethane (ETPU) product that offers thermoformers and converters a rigid, dimensionally stable sheet with many of the desirable performance characteristics of our standard polyurethane films.

ArgoThane D7101 has a Shore hardness of 72D and can be thermoformed and die cut.  Its exceptional toughness and impact resistance, as well as its low moisture absorption and dimensional stability, make ArgoThane D7101 a high-performance material ideally suited for critical thermoforming applications in automotive, electronics, durable goods and medical devices.  It is also a viable alternative to glass or metal in various circumstances. 

In addition, ArgoThane D7101's superior chemical resistance, optical clarity and abrasion resistance makes it a practicable candidate to replace engineering polymers like polycarbonate in certain applications.

 

BASIC SHEET SIZES & THICKNESSES

Normally supplied in roll form, ArgoThane D7101 thermoformable ETPU sheet can be flat-die extruded in thicknesses of 10-75 mils and widths up to 60 inches.

Rigid, engineered ArgoThane D7101 polyurethane sheet possesses many of the physical properties not available in other thermoplastic materials or synthetic rubbers, but which are inherent in our standard polyurethane sheet, including:

  • Abrasion resistance for physically punishing, high-wear applications.
  • No plasticizers to migrate and cause allergic reactions or embrittlement.
  • Resistance to hydrocarbons, chemicals, ozone, bacteria, and fungus make it ideal for tough industrial environments.
  • RF, ultrasonic and heat weldable.
  • High draw-down ratio in thermoforming.
